Boost Client Value and Commissions with the TSA Hotel Program
Hello TRAVELSAVERS and NEST Members!
I hope you had a great summer!
As we all know, booking hotels effectively for your clients involves a number of factors to consider, including location, amenities, cancellation policies, reviews, and rates. There’s also another factor to consider, relationships. We would all love to have a close relationship with hotels and other industry partners to help ensure our clients are receiving the best rates and service possible, but that is sometimes impractical given the scale and time commitments needed to forge them.
This is where the TSA Hotel Program comes in. We are here to help in a variety of ways, particularly as it relates to the relationships between travel agencies – both corporate and leisure – and our hotel partners. While there are many facets to cultivating these relationships, it can also come down to facilitating an agency’s ability to book the best hotels at the best rates so you can deliver the best value to your clients. That’s why one of my top priorities and a recurring piece of advice in this column is to ensure that your agency is properly set up to access the TSA Hotel Program rates in your respective GDS. You really need to take advantage of the benefits of booking the TSA rates, rather than settling for BAR or other published rates that may not offer discounts, last room availability, and commissions. Plus, when you book the TSA rates, you have the confidence of knowing the TRAVELSAVERS Hotel Division stands behind them.
My advice is that you always include the TSA rate code when conducting your hotel searches. Even better, be sure to “pre-set” or “auto-populate” the TSA rate code in your respective GDS so you don’t have to worry about having to enter them each time. And as always, if you do not see the TSA rates for any of the hotels participating in our program, please send me an email at wbennett@travelsavers.com. It may be just a technical matter of enabling your agency’s PCC or OID on our side so that you can view and book our rates. You have access to one of the industry’s most robust hotel rate and content programs so it’s important that you can use it.
Remember, whether you book leisure, business, or blended travel, the TSA Hotel Program provides your clients with exceptional value, commissions for you, and added perks such as exclusive advisor incentives, hotel education, GDS segment credit and more. In turn, your clients can receive discounted rates, value-added amenities, loyalty points, and more. When you book using the TSA rate code in the GDS, or the TRAVELSAVERS Preferred Hotel Rates in our online booking tool, tripXpress, you help support the TSA Hotel Program so we can continue to provide the best hotel options and rate offers for you and your clients. For further details on how to book our rates, please take a moment to download the GDS Reservation Instruction Booklet.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support!
Sincerely,
William “Bill” Bennett
