Are You Using the TRAVELSAVERS Hotel Program? Here's Why You Should!

I wanted to revisit our TRAVELSAVERS Preferred Hotel Program and the benefits you receive. You have access to our hotel program, and the TRAVELSAVERS rates, which are offered at more than 45,000 hotels, in 9,000+ cities and 190+ countries. These rates come with value-added benefits that include items such as complimentary Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast, room upgrades and late check out to name a few. Many of our hotel partners provide a discount of up to 25% off BAR, giving you some of the best industry rates available. The most important benefit to you and for all your hard work is that the rates also come with guaranteed commission of up to 15%!
You can view our TRAVELSAVERS rates in your preferred GDS by using the rate access code, TSA. We also have TS8 rates available when supplier partners create and share exclusive promotional offers, or restricted rates. If you are a non-GDS user, you can view these rates via our online booking tool, tripXpress. When you log in to tripXpress you can choose the “Preferred” icon, as shown below, when you’re on the hotel search page:
I also want to provide a warning on OTA content, which is finding its way into the GDS. While this may give you more options, please remember that the OTA rates are usually highly restrictive, including lengthy requirements for changes, or cancellations, and in many cases even nonrefundable or unchangeable. And the biggest downfall is that you also more than likely will not get the commission you deserve for your time and effort in working with your clients. You can ‘inhibit’ OTA aggregator content in the various GDSs’ if it is turned on and simply need to talk with your GDS sales representative on how to accomplish that.
Lastly, are you signed up to receive our email publications? While we know you receive a lot of email during the day, I can’t stress how important it is to review the information our hotel partners have to offer. Generally all of our publications provide supplier promotions, which can include discounts for your client, or even something for you as an advisor. This information is sent out weekly in your Business Analyst Update, bi-weekly in Supplier Scoop, occasionally in Exclusive Scoop, and monthly in Agent’s Edge. All different offers from various hotel partners who want to give you the edge when working with your clients.
